About

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded Tufts University a grant to test and evaluate the use of telehealth innovations in the delivery of USDA’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

In an effort to help WIC State Agencies (SAs) improve and streamline their nutrition education and breastfeeding support efforts and increase participant retention, Tufts University is offering the USDA/Tufts Telehealth Intervention Strategies for WIC (THIS-WIC) grant opportunity.

THIS-WIC, led by Project Director, Dr. Erin Hennessy, brings together Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University School of Medicine, Old Dominion University, the American Telemedicine Association, and RTI International. THIS-WIC is supported by an Advisory Board of experts with experience in WIC programming, WIC research, and telehealth.
