Applicants do not need to directly consider measures to assess across projects. THIS-WIC will work with funded agencies to identify common measures across proposals at the appropriate time. In Phase II, THIS-WIC encourages applicants to design their evaluation plans to leverage existing data sources (e.g., Management Information System, administrative data) and propose feasible measures to assess outcomes that cannot be captured by existing data sources. Applicants are encouraged to review the RFP and THIS-WIC resources on evaluation.
As soon as possible. THIS-WIC will share by email and post to our website feedback from that phase of the process. The feedback will be broad and applicable across proposals. No applicants will receive individual feedback.
THIS-WIC’s goal is to provide decisions by early November to all applicants.
Project timelines should begin in December 2020.
Twelve proposals have progressed to Phase II.
THIS-WIC would like applicants to speak to any prior staff experience with research, and, in particular, staff who have experience sharing data with external partners. Applicants should describe how they have provided data in the past, and processes in place at the Agency to ensure data integrity. If applicants do not have prior research experience, they can also speak to their willingness to work with THIS-WIC to be trained on data collection methods.
THIS-WIC cannot share names, but the review panel will be made up of individuals with expertise in telehealth, WIC programming, nutrition education and breastfeeding support, and evaluation. Most reviewers will have expertise across several or all of these areas.
These personnel will vary by project, so it’s up to each applicant to decide which personnel are instrumental to the success of the project. Applicants can use the staffing section of the proposal and budget narrative to describe other key contributors.
Yes. Reviewers for the full proposals will not have read the brief proposals.
